Diethelm Travel has been a leader in destination management and travel services for almost 60 years. Offering thousands of tours in a dozen countries throughout Southeast Asia, Diethelm understood the value of a powerful and well organized website. Diethelm approached Bedside based on our expertise in travel website design and development, with goals to improve the user experience and better organize Diethelm’s catalog of tours, hotels and transfers.

Bedside provided the strategy, design and development behind the 2016 launch of Diethelm’s online portal. This fully responsive website allows agents and travelers to experience the vast depth of the company’s travel offerings. The website’s unique design provides a consistent experience on any device without limiting access to Diethelm’s decades of experience. The website features a custom framework for Diethelm’s extensive travel database, live connectivity to their existing booking engine, and a design bringing their expertise and product catalog to life.

Custom Framework and Database Integration

The new website brings every one of Diethelm Travel’s thousands of tour packages to life. Our custom web service pulls data and photographs from Diethelm’s backend database, ensuring that each addition or modification made by any of Diethelm’s 12 offices throughout Southeast Asia are immediately reflected on the website.

Single Sign-on Connectivity with Booking Engine

One project requirement was not only to integrate the website with Diethelm’s existing booking engine, but to develop a single sign-on system allowing agents to access a private marketing portal through the website using the same secure password they use for booking tours. Agents can now browse through Diethelm’s extensive image and newsletter libraries through the website, and book tours, hotels and transfers without being required to log on a second time when booking.

Modern, Responsive Design Bringing the Diethelm Catalog to Life

Bedside’s design team gave Diethelm a one-of-a-kind look, setting it well apart from existing travel website designs. However it was Bedside’s strategic design framework that preceded the design phase which brought an in depth understanding of Diethelm’s business model into the design itself. The result is a well organized and simple to navigate website allowing agents to zero in on the tours their clients want.
